PART TIME JOB MANAGING EARTHSHIP GUESTS
Part Time Manager Wanted in exchange for accommodation in a stunning rural location near Kodaikanal.
I am looking for the right person to manage our Airbnb guests who visit Earthship Karuna at Karuna Dham! In exchange you will receive accommodation next door at the geodesic dome known as the Sunrise Chalet. It is a small, very special home that has basic amenities including power, hot water, shower, private toilet, kitchenette, wifi etc. You have plenty of private space including a front garden, and covered veranda with breathtaking views of the valley.
We typically have guests for three nights once or maybe twice a week and sometimes longer. I communicate with all guests throughout and I am their first point of contact. You are there to assist if needed when guests are there, and especially for checkin and checkout times. Once guests are settled in, or there are no guests (around half the time) you will have no duties to perform. Therefore this is less than a normal part time job as many days you will have off and can do your own thing. Also most of the time when guests are there you have nothing to do.
Duties
- Welcome guests when they come and show them around the Earthship.
- You may also be needed if there are any issues that need some help or for any emergencies. Until now we have only one where the toilet was blocked. I am always around to guide and help solve any issues.
- The Earthship must be checked after labour have cleaned. There may be some things to put in place or clean that are missed.
- The Earthship must be checked according to a check list once guests have checked out.
This is a great place for someone who is independant. Karuna Dham does have a vegetarian restaurant 10 minutes walk from the Sunrise Chalet, where you can meet guests or staff and socialise or eat. Im sure also you will be invitied for meals sometimes by guests who stay. Until now we have had very nice guests who have been all very happy indeed. Generally things work very well and the earthship and Karuna Dham staff does a great job of looking after everyone!
Please note all restaurant and food bills are additional.
You will be given free accommodation only in exchange.

Yoga Teaching Option!
If you teach yoga, even at a basic level, there may be an opportunity for you to teach in the beautiful yoga school at Karuna Dham and earn a little money also. Normally it is teaching guests who are there and just want to try it out. Details can be discussed if you are interested and the position is still available.
